Bok choy in garlic sauce
Ingredients
- 6 baby bok choy
- 4 spring onions, sliced diagonally
- 5-6 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 ½ tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ cup water
- Cornstarch slurry
Steps
- Cut the bok choy in half or quarters depending on size. Rinse to remove any dirt.
- Blanch the bok choy in boiling salted water for 30 seconds. Set aside.
- In the wok sauté the garlic and ginger in the sesame oil on medium until fragrant. Add in the soy sauce.
- Add the bok choy to the wok and cook for a minute before adding in the spring onions.
- Raise the heat slightly and add the water.
- Let everything cook for a couple of minutes while stirring then add in the cornstarch slurry.
- Season with salt and pepper and mix well until sauce has completely thickened.
