Ingredients

  • Vegan chicken
  • 1 tbsp shaoxing wine
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • 6 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp white pepper
  • Thinly sliced lemon
  • Rice
  • Green beans
  • Green pepper
  • 2 onions, roughly chopped

Steps

  1. Clean and cook the rice.
  2. Put the chicken in a bowl. Add in the rice wine and mix well. Allow to sit for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Make the sauce by mixing ingredients from lemon juice to garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Toss the chicken in 2 tbsp cornstarch and white pepper. Cook in the air fryer until golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile heat sesame oil in the wok, once hot add green pepper and beans. Cook until starting to soften.
  6. Add the onion and cook until just softened. Set aside.
  7. Pour in the lemon sauce over medium low. Allow the sauce to come to boil then lower to a simmer.
  8. Add in the chicken and vegetables. Pour in the cornstarch slurry. Cook until sauce thickens.
