Sesame cauliflower wings
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- ½ cup flour
- ½ cup almond milk
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- 1 cup panko season with salt and pepper
- 5 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp sesame seeds
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ¼ cup water
- Chopped scallions
- Sesame seeds
Steps
- Preheat oven to 230°C. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with a silicone baking sheet.
- Remove florets from the cauliflower and chop into bite sized pieces.
- In a bowl, whisk the flour, almond milk, salt, pepper and garlic powder to make the batter.
- In a separate bowl, place the breadcrumbs. Line it up beside the batter bowl.
- Toss the cauliflower in the batter mixture, making sure they're all coated.
- Transfer them to the breadcrumbs in batches and coat completely, then place onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 22 minutes. While baking, make the sauce as outlined below.
- In a pan on medium heat, mix all the sauce ingredients except the cornstarch.
- Bring to a boil then add the cornstarch slurry. Lower to a simmer and simmer until thickened.
- Toss the wings in the sauce then place back on the baking sheet and bake for another five minutes.
