Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 cup panko season with salt and pepper
  • 5 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water
  • Chopped scallions
  • Sesame seeds

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with a silicone baking sheet.
  2. Remove florets from the cauliflower and chop into bite sized pieces.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the flour, almond milk, salt, pepper and garlic powder to make the batter.
  4. In a separate bowl, place the breadcrumbs. Line it up beside the batter bowl.
  5. Toss the cauliflower in the batter mixture, making sure they're all coated.
  6. Transfer them to the breadcrumbs in batches and coat completely, then place onto the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 22 minutes. While baking, make the sauce as outlined below.
  8. In a pan on medium heat, mix all the sauce ingredients except the cornstarch.
  9. Bring to a boil then add the cornstarch slurry. Lower to a simmer and simmer until thickened.
  10. Toss the wings in the sauce then place back on the baking sheet and bake for another five minutes.
