Ingredients

  • ½ cup mirin
  • 3 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sambal
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 6 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 block tofu
  • 2–4 heads pak choi
  • 1 head broccoli
  • Sesame seeds
  • Spring onions
  • Rice

Steps

  1. Drain and press the tofu.
  2. Combine all marinade ingredients.
  3. Marinade the tofu for several hours covered in the fridge, flipping halfway.
  4. Cook the rice.
  5. Place the tofu into a hot pan and allow to brown on one side. Flip and repeat on the other side.
  6. Remove the tofu, then pour in the remaining marinade. Allow to sizzle until slightly reduced.
  7. Steam the pak choi and broccoli separately in the microwave.
