Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes, peeled
  • 1 onion, peeled
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Neutral oil
  • 1 ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 ½ tbsp water
  • 1 ½ tbsp rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp gochugaru
  • ½ tsp garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped spring onions

Steps

  1. Chop potatoes into chunks. Blend the potato in a mixer or food processor.
  2. Sit the potato in a sieve over a bowl, let it sit for about five minutes.
  3. Combine ingredients from sugar to spring onion for the dipping sauce for the pancakes, set aside.
  4. Meanwhile blend the onion. Once potato has sat mix the potato and onion and season with salt.
  5. Empty the potato water leaving the starchy residue. Add the starch to the potato mixture and stir well to combine.
  6. Heat a pan on high and add oil. Once hot take a scoop of the potato mixture and drop it in the pan, shaping it with the back of a spoon.
  7. Once browned on the underside flip and repeat for the other side until golden brown on both sides.
