Vegan cheese bread
Ingredients
- 1-2 potatoes
- ½ cup potato boiling water
- ¼ cup plant milk
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- 2 cups tapioca starch
- ¼ cup nooch
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ⅓ cup grated vegan cheese
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C and bring a large pot of water to a boil. Line a baking tray with parchment.
- Peel and chop potatoes, then boil until fork tender. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of the boiling water.
- Pour the reserved water into a bowl and whisk along with plant milk and olive oil.
- In another bowl whisk together remaining ingredients except the cheese. Add to the liquid ingredients and mix. Fold in the cheese.
- Start with a spatula and then work the dough using your hands. It may be a little dry at first but just compact the dough and pack it tightly.
- Roll tablespoon sized balls of dough. Space them evenly on the baking tray, leaving at least 1 inch between each ball of dough.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bottom of the bread is golden brown and small cracks start to form on the surface.
