Ingredients

  • 2 servings rice
  • 250g mushrooms, sliced
  • 300g vegan beef stock
  • 25g butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Steps

  1. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. On medium-high heat.
  2. Add the mushrooms and cook until softened. Remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to low-medium. Add a knob of butter into the pan.
  4. Once it has melted, add flour. Mix until it becomes a roux and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add stock. Increase heat back to medium and stir until it becomes a thick gravy.
  6. Add the mushrooms back. Add pepper, salt and sugar to taste. Mix well.
