Ingredients

  • 400g extra firm tofu
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tbsp vegan oyster sauce
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Splash of water
  • Sourdough
  • Aioli
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Vegan cheese

Steps

  1. Shave the tofu into thin meat-like slices.
  2. Mix ingredients from smoked paprika to water for the marinade.
  3. Line a baking tray and preheat the oven to 180°C.
  4. Add the tofu slices and coat in the marinade.
  5. Heat some oil in the pan and once hot pan fry the tofu until slightly charred.
  6. Brush the sliced sourdough with olive oil and put on the baking tray.
  7. Put in the oven and toast until lightly browned. Remove from oven.
  8. Layer your sandwich with some aioli, lettuce, tomato, smoked tofu and cheese.
