Smoked tofu pastrami & cheese
Ingredients
- 400g extra firm tofu
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- ½ tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tbsp vegan oyster sauce
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Splash of water
- Sourdough
- Aioli
- Lettuce
- Sliced tomatoes
- Vegan cheese
Steps
- Shave the tofu into thin meat-like slices.
- Mix ingredients from smoked paprika to water for the marinade.
- Line a baking tray and preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Add the tofu slices and coat in the marinade.
- Heat some oil in the pan and once hot pan fry the tofu until slightly charred.
- Brush the sliced sourdough with olive oil and put on the baking tray.
- Put in the oven and toast until lightly browned. Remove from oven.
- Layer your sandwich with some aioli, lettuce, tomato, smoked tofu and cheese.
