Ingredients

  • 2 punnets oyster mushrooms
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp cajun
  • 1 tsp zaatar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pita
  • Lettuce
  • Red onion
  • Tomato
  • Hummus
  • Aioli
  • Chilli sauce

Steps

  1. Mix together all the spices in a small bowl.
  2. In a large bowl add a glug of oil and the mushrooms.
  3. Sprinkle the spice mixture on the mushrooms and mix to coat.
  4. Heat some oil in a skillet and add the mushrooms.
  5. Add something heavy on top, like another pan or a bowl and press down.
  6. Let cook until charred slightly and then flip the mushrooms and repeat the process.
  7. Mix together your salad ingredients in a bowl.
  8. Heat the pita, load on the salad, hummus and aioli then top with the mushroom shawarma.
