Mushroom Shawarma
Ingredients
- 2 punnets oyster mushrooms
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tbsp thyme
- 1 tbsp cajun
- 1 tsp zaatar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- Pita
- Lettuce
- Red onion
- Tomato
- Hummus
- Aioli
- Chilli sauce
Steps
- Mix together all the spices in a small bowl.
- In a large bowl add a glug of oil and the mushrooms.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture on the mushrooms and mix to coat.
- Heat some oil in a skillet and add the mushrooms.
- Add something heavy on top, like another pan or a bowl and press down.
- Let cook until charred slightly and then flip the mushrooms and repeat the process.
- Mix together your salad ingredients in a bowl.
- Heat the pita, load on the salad, hummus and aioli then top with the mushroom shawarma.
