Ingredients

  • 900g potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 240ml milk, or as needed

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to the boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes; drain.
  2. In a saucepan heat butter and milk on low until butter is melted.
  3. Using a potato masher slowly blend milk mixture into potatoes until smooth and creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
