Ingredients

  • ½ cup almonds
  • ½ cup pecans
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp cold vegan butter
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 3 apples
  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 tbsp cold vegan butter
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp all-spice
  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup non-dairy milk
  • 3 tbsp vegan butter
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Steps

  1. In a food processor, blend the almonds and pecans into a fine meal.
  2. Add ingredients from flour to salt and blend until well combined.
  3. Press into a pie tin. Poke a few holes in the surface of the crust with a fork.
  4. Bake in a preheated 180°C oven for 8 to 10 minutes until half cooked then place on a cooling rack.
  5. Peel, core, quarter, and thinly slice the apples.
  6. Mix them with the ingredients from coconut sugar to cinnamon with your hands until well coated.
  7. In another bowl, mix ingredients from oats to all spice with your hands until it forms large crumbs.
  8. Layer the apple slices in the crust and top with the crumble evenly. Bake at 180°C for 25 minutes.
  9. While the tart is baking, make the salted caramel by combining remaining ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  10. Whisk constantly for 7 to 8 minutes as it thickens. Remove from the heat.
  11. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before delicately removing it from the pan.
  12. Just before serving, drizzle some salted caramel over the entire tart.
