Ingredients

  • 400g firm tofu, crumbled
  • 1 tbsp mushroom powder
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • Parsley, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegan beef stock powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp coriander
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • Rosemary
  • 4-6 tbsp flour
  • 75ml vegan mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • ½ tbsp mustard
  • ½ tsp hot sauce
  • ½ tbsp finely chopped pickles
  • ¼ tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp pickle juice
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • Vegan cheese slices
  • Caramelised onion
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Buns

Steps

  1. In a large bowl mix the ingredients from tofu to flour. Once evenly mixed divide into 8 balls and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile in a medium bowl combine ingredients from mayo to smoked paprika. Taste and season. Refrigerate.
  3. Heat oil in the frying pan. Once hot add four of the patty balls and press down with a spatula to form a patty.
  4. Brown on one side then flip and add a slice of vegan cheese. Add a quarter cup of water, cover and steam until cheese is melted.
  5. Toast the buns, then assemble the burgers
