Sticky ginger sesame tofu
Ingredients
- 500g tofu
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- ¼ tsp white pepper
- ¼ tsp msg
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tbsp maple syrup
- 1 orange, juiced
- 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 inch ginger, grated
- 3 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 ½ tsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp water
- Tenderstem broccoli
- Spring onions, thinly sliced
- Sesame seeds
- Red chilli, sliced
- Sticky rice, cooked
Steps
- Drain and press the tofu. Once done pat dry and tear into bite sized pieces.
- Add tofu to a large bowl with the cornstarch, white pepper, msg and salt. Toss to coat. Cook in the air fryer until crispy.
- Meanwhile combine ingredients from maple syrup to water for the sauce and mix well.
- Spread the broccoli onto a baking sheet, drizzle with oil and salt and roast for 10 minutes.
- Once the tofu is nearly done pour the sauce into a pan and cook until bubbling and slightly thickened.
- Add the tofu, spring onion, sesame seeds and chilli and stir to coat.
