Lemongrass iced tea
Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- 3 stalks lemongrass
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 6 fresh mint leaves
- 2 green tea bags
Steps
- Place a large pot on the stove, add the water and heat.
- Mash the lemongrass stalks to help release the oils, cut into smaller pieces and add it to the water.
- Add grated ginger and bring it a boil, once it comes to a boil lower heat and simmer for a few minutes.
- Add the sugar, lemon juice and mint leaves.
- Take the pot off the stove and add two tea bags in the pot, let steep for about five minutes.
- Let the tea cool down, strain it and keep in the fridge till ready to serve.
- Pour over some ice and garnish with mint leaves
