Lemongrass iced tea

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 3 stalks lemongrass
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 green tea bags

Steps

  1. Place a large pot on the stove, add the water and heat.
  2. Mash the lemongrass stalks to help release the oils, cut into smaller pieces and add it to the water.
  3. Add grated ginger and bring it a boil, once it comes to a boil lower heat and simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Add the sugar, lemon juice and mint leaves.
  5. Take the pot off the stove and add two tea bags in the pot, let steep for about five minutes.
  6. Let the tea cool down, strain it and keep in the fridge till ready to serve.
  7. Pour over some ice and garnish with mint leaves
