Ingredients

  • 2 blocks tofu
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1 tbsp ground flax
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • ¼ cup pickle juice
  • 3 cups corn flakes
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 5 tbsp vegan butter
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Buns
  • Red onion
  • Lettuce

Steps

  1. Drain and press the tofu. Once done pat dry with a paper towel. Cut of rip tofu into burger sized pieces.
  2. In a shallow dish whisk ingredients from hot water to pickle juice and place tofu inside. Marinate overnight.
  3. Place ingredients from corn flakes to black pepper into a food processor and pulse until crumbled. Place in a shallow bowl.
  4. Dip tofu into the breading mixture. Spray lightly with oil and cook in the air fryer.
  5. Meanwhile in a small pot combine ingredients from butter to black pepper. Heat and stir until butter has melted.
  6. Brush the sauce over the tofu and assemble the burgers.
