Ingredients

  • 2 block tofu
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3-4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegan butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs curry leaves
  • 1 red chilli, sliced
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 3 tbsp nooch
  • 3 tbsp coconut cream
  • ½ cup oat milk
  • Black salt
  • Rice

Steps

  1. Drain your tofu and press out the excess water. Break them apart into small chunks.
  2. In a bowl combine cornstarch, salt, white pepper and garlic powder. Coat the tofu chunks in this mixture.
  3. Air fry the tofu in a single layer in multiple batches if necessary. Flipping halfway.
  4. Heat a pan and add the butter. Once melted add the garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the chilli and sauté for another minute.
  5. Add curry leaves. Once crisp add oat milk and mix well. Add soy sauce.
  6. Turn down heat to low and mix well. Add black salt and turmeric.
  7. Mix in the nooch and then add the tofu. Mix well then let the tofu cook in the sauce for a few minutes.
  8. If you'd like more sauce add a splash of oat milk, mix well and simmer.
