Salted egg yolk tofu
Ingredients
- 2 block tofu
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3-4 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegan butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 sprigs curry leaves
- 1 red chilli, sliced
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 3 tbsp nooch
- 3 tbsp coconut cream
- ½ cup oat milk
- Black salt
- Rice
Steps
- Drain your tofu and press out the excess water. Break them apart into small chunks.
- In a bowl combine cornstarch, salt, white pepper and garlic powder. Coat the tofu chunks in this mixture.
- Air fry the tofu in a single layer in multiple batches if necessary. Flipping halfway.
- Heat a pan and add the butter. Once melted add the garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the chilli and sauté for another minute.
- Add curry leaves. Once crisp add oat milk and mix well. Add soy sauce.
- Turn down heat to low and mix well. Add black salt and turmeric.
- Mix in the nooch and then add the tofu. Mix well then let the tofu cook in the sauce for a few minutes.
- If you'd like more sauce add a splash of oat milk, mix well and simmer.
